gone...

i'm leaving wednesday :( to go to a bowl game :) but i'll be gone new years :/ but i'll be with all my band friends :) so. i dont know how i feel about that. it mostly depends on that crooked face. i can't decide if i'm sad or indifferent about being gone on new years....i'd like to think i'm sad, but, except for last year, i didn't really do anything too exciting on new years, so maybe it's a way of avoiding a possibly depressing night alone... haha. i guess i'll never know.

but i'll be back sunday, only to leave again on thursday - my birthday :((( i can't believe i'll be 19! i'm getting so old. why do classes have to start on friday? why not monday, like everybody else in the state. well, at least state and carolina. going back on friday takes away 3 days that i could have had at home! ugh.

oh well. break is too short. i hardly got to see anyone at all! at least i'll see a bunch of people tomorrow! and hopefully next week, too.

i think i'm gonna take my dog to the park.

traveling, and typing in the dark...

right now, i'm in atlanta, but we're going to asheville tomorrow and boone the next day, and there's lot's of snow there! i love snow, but i'm pretty nervous about driving in it, even though my parents will be driving. especially in the mountains! someone said that asheville got over a foot of snow! i hope the roads are clear... but then again, i'm from wilmington, and i'd assume people in asheville now how to deal with snow pretty well, they sure do get a lot of it! (at least compared to wilmington...)

i'm sure it'll be really really pretty, though! it's been a long time since i saw any snow, especially snow in the mountains! actually, it's been a while since i've seen mountains, too. i think i may have seen snow more recently than mountains... there are hills in atlanta, though!

while i'm in boone, i'll hopefully get a new clarinet!!!! i'm crossing my fingers the store will be open! please, please, pleaseeee!!!

oh, at my grandpa's church, there's this huge pipe organ, and today the organist played an improvisation based on "hark the herald angels" and it was pretty amazing. it was also very loud. like, really loud. it kinda hurt my ears, but it was a good sort of pain. haha, i guess he plays it so loud because most of the people in the church are almost deaf... but they're all really nice, and they always tell me how much i look like my mom. today was my parents' anniversary - they were married in the same church we went to this morning, and the man that married them sang in the choir. my dad and grandpa always tell him what good work he does. i'm glad he does good work, i'm so lucky to have my family!

well, if i don't write again before christmas, merry christmas!!! and happy new year, after that! have a good day! and pray for us while we're driving in the snow and mountains... i don't know why i got so nervous all the sudden!! hopefully it's not foreshadowing anything. darn, why'd i say that?! ok, we'll be fine!

i should be packing....

my building is empty. we counted and there are approximately.... 17 people in the whole building, including RAs. but we're not really sure how many RAs there are, so you could say about 7 people that aren't RAs. either way, i think the RAs outnumber us. i have to stay till tomorrow morning because the wind ensemble is playing at commencement, which starts at 10. dr. carter said bring a book - i heard it's about an hour and a half long - i'm really hoping that's right!

meredith left!! :((( this is my first night alone in my room.... it's gonna be weird... i gotta get up early, and it's gonna be cold tomorrow! and i don't have a blowdryer - i usually used meredith's if i needed one, but i know the girl down the hall has one - hopefully i can borrow hers so my hair doesnt freeze and break off. there's a chance of snow!

but yeah, i'm about to go to bed now, and then after commencement tomorrow i'm going home! and then visiting school and seeing teachers and such? hopefully i'll be back before school's out! and then we're going to atlanta, then asheville where we'll get a candlelight tour of the biltmore (part of a christmas present for my mom) and then we'll go to boone where i'll (hopefully!) get a new clarinet! excitinggg!

i watched up tonight and took pictures of shadows and scoured greenville for something i never found. oh well. it was a fun night!

merry christmas!!! i can't believe it's that time... it doesnt feel like christmas to me! but yes, merry christmas, and i hope i'll see you all during break!!!!

wishing, again...

i wish that.... it wasn't so hard to be heard around certain people. i also wish.... that when i am heard, i would get an answer.

i wish that we could talk. i don't care what about. i wish i could stop missing 11:11 so i could wish those things, but it doesn't really mean anything to wish at that time anyway. my wishes rarely come true. what makes these different?

i hate only wishing things.


we have a bowl game on january 2nd, we're leaving december 30th and will be gone till the 3rd. i used to not want to be gone on new years, but i don't think i care anymore. i still want to see my friends at home, though. hopefully i'll have enough time to see them all.

but yay! break! even though it's... abbreviated. ugh, marching band. i get so annoyed by marching band when i'm in it, but i do like it, i promise, and i miss it when it's over.

i get to see my cousins and my aunt and uncles and my grandpa (and my parents and brother of course)! and eat lots of good food that's not from a dining hall! and be lazy! and whatever else i have time for!

hopefully me and alyssa will do something - i promised! and anybody else that isnt busy tuesday night or friday night!

so i found out that if we win the football game on saturday, we're #1 in the conference and will host the championship game on dec. 5th, but if we lose, we are still eastern c-usa champions and will go to a game in texas on dec. 5th (marching band included! we'll get to fly!) so, part of me hopes we'll win and not have to go anywhere and be ranked #1 in our conference, but another part of me hopes we'll lose and get a whole plane just for the marching band! either way, we're gonna have a game on the 5th. (which is also the day before our wind ensemble christmas concert... hmm, i wonder how that will work...)
